What do I need to do to hire tools?

It is really simple to hire tools with GMB Tool Hire. You can either contact us to reserve a tool you require prior to your visit or simply turn up with 2 form of recent I.D (utility bill, phone bill etc) and the required deposit.

 

What if I only need the tool for a few hours?

At GMB Tool Hire we have extremely competitive daily tool hire rates. No need to rush on the job, simply chose to hire your tool for the day and return it before closing time; saving yourself  a fortune compared to other local tool hire companies and giving yourself the extra time to perfect the job.

 

What if I need to hire a tool or piece of equipment for a long period of time?

On all of our product pages you will see we offer a range of hire periods, if you need an item for longer than 7 days please do contact us to discuss the time required and we can allocate an additional discount for extended periods.

 

I really need a GMB tool but I am not keen on hiring it, do you offer any other options?

At GMB Tool Hire, we offer a range of reconditioned tools available to buy. For a vastly reduced price you could have your very own tool which is as good as new and comes with a 90 guarantee. Please contact us to see if we have your item in stock.

 

Where do you deliver to and collect from?

GMB Tool Hire offer a delivery/collection service from as little as £2 each way. We operate within a 3.5 mile radius of our Halesowen shop, covering Harborne, Quinton, Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Blackheath, Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Oldhill, Bearwood and Smethwick. If you are not in these areas but require delivery please do contact us to see if we can help.

 

What happens if a machine I hired stops working?

In the unlikely event that a piece of GMB Tool Hire equipment fails, please contact the office for advice or a replacement.

 

What happens if a machine I’ve hired stops working out of hours?

As above, please contact us ASAP on the out of hours number and we will advise or replace the item for you – even out of hours. Should you fail to do this you may still be charged for the time.

 

Do I need to let you know if I need the equipment for longer than I thought?

No, in most instances we have multiples of items in stock to ensure we can provide all of our customers with a flexible, affordable hire options. Simply return your hire equipment when you are finished with it and you will be charged for the total hire time. – No penalties incurred.

 

Can I pay for my hire tools by credit or debit card?

Yes, at GMB Tool Hire we accept both credit and debit cards along with cash payments. Don’t forget we also do not charge V.A.T.

 

The item I am hiring is very heavy is there somewhere to park close by?

If you require a heavy item we do of course have an affordable delivery service available to help save you any inconvenience. If however you prefer to collect, there is ample parking to the front of the shop with a large area directly in front of the doors free to load/unload your vehicle. Our friendly staff are always on hand to help you with you hire goods too.

 

I’ve never hired tools before, will I be shown how to use the equipment?

Yes, we offer verbal instructions to your requirements on the safe working and operation of all of our equipment. In addition to, a written safety leaflet to comply full with Health and Safety regulations. If at any point after you have hired your equipment and feel unsure please do not hesitate to give us a call.

 

Do you offer business accounts, and if so how long do I need to have been trading to apply?

At GMB Tool Hire we are happy to take account applications from all businesses whether you are a start up or have been trading for years. To apply you simply need to have a credit checkable history, provide recent utility bills and bank statements; in addition to leaving a holding deposit.
